SuperX: Kawasaki Anaheim II preview

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Carries Momentum Into Anaheim 2

Corona, Calif. (February 3, 2011) - Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Tickle enters the fifth round at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. on a wave of momentum from his first win of the season last weekend in Oakland. Current points leader and teammate Josh Hansen is also looking for the momentum to swing his way as he goes after his third win. Tyla Rattray continues to move forward in his recovery from a wrist injury and is looking to get back on the podium for the second time this season.

Tickle's confidence and determination helped him earn his second-career win in Oakland and now looks to start a win-streak in Anaheim. Knowing he's only one point off the championship lead, Tickle understands championships are won with consistency.

"I know I'm not going to win the championship because of one win, but I'm just going to take everything race by race and day by day," said Tickle. "I know that I have a championship-winning team behind me definitely helps to keep me focused and stay on track. Both Josh and I are lucky to have such a great team supporting us and we both have experience racing in the lites class. I think it will be a good battle to the end." Going back to Anaheim means there will be plenty of family and friends in Hansen's cheering section. He is looking for his third win of the season and to increase his points lead.

"I'm excited about going back to Anaheim and being close to home," said Hansen. "It will be good going forward into this next week. I just have to keep making it to the podium. I know that will be one of the keys to winning the championship."

Rattray continues to make progress towards a clean bill of health as he nears 100 percent with his wrist injury. He is hopes Anaheim will be his return to the podium.

"I'm looking forward to Anaheim 2 and coming in almost completely healthy," said Rattray. "I really want to go after my second podium. I'm definitely feeling stronger everyday."

Hansen continues to lead the standings with 88 points, closely followed by teammate Tickle in second with 87 points, while Rattray sits in sixth with 58 points. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki will make their return to Anaheim for the fifth round of the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship.
