Fritz named ISC director of corporate administrative operations

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 4, 1999)Doug Fritz has been named director of corporate administrative operations for International Speedway Corporation (ISC), a motorsports entertainment company, ISC Vice President of Corporate Administrative Services John Saunders announced Tuesday. Fritz, who has served as senior director of marketing and business development for NASCAR since 1996, will assume his duties immediately and will work with Saunders on various on-going ISC projects.

"We're excited to have someone of Doug's caliber join our team," Saunders said. "His knowledge and experience in the motorsports industry will be an asset to ISC?"

Fritz joined NASCAR in 1990, where he began as a marketing coordinator. He was named director of marketing in 1991. While in his marketing positions, Fritz was involved with all aspect of NASCAR?s marketing, sales and sponsorship service as well as special activities.

This provides new and exciting challenges and a great opportunity to learn a different side of the business," Fritz said. "I look forward to working with the entire ISC team."

International Speedway Corporation is a promoter of motorsports activities in the United States, currently promoting more than 80 events annually. The company owns and/or operates five motorsports facilities, including Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.; Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama; Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona; Darlington Raceway in South Carolina; and Watkins Glen International in New York. Other track interests include the operation of Tucson (Ariz.) Raceway Park, a 45 percent stake in Homestead-Miami Speedway and an approximate 12 percent holding in Penske Motorsports, Inc.

The Company also owns and operates MRN Radio, the nation's largest independent sports radio network, and DAYTONA USA, the "Ultimate Motorsports Attraction" in Daytona Beach, the "Official Attraction of NASCAR."
