IHBA Speedvision Telecast Revs Up On July 1

June 22, 2001 (Austin, TX) --- The International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) has released the 2001 programming schedule for the weekly television program scheduled to air on the Speedvision network. The 52-week schedule will begin with original programming on Sunday, July 1, at 11:00 a.m. EST and a repeat broadcast on Wednesday, July 4, at 3:30 p.m. EST. Subsequent original programming will air each Sunday with repeats each Wednesday. The inaugural broadcast will feature highlights from the season opening Lakefest 2001 event from Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ. A July-December IHBA broadcast schedule is attached.

"We are excited to have our events broadcast to the millions of Speedvision viewers. We know once fans see the awesome racing action of IHBA with our 5,000 hp Top Fuel Hydros, Top Alcohol Hydros, and Top Alcohol Flatbottoms they will be hooked. Thanks to Speedvision's global reach we are looking at these broadcasts as huge stepping stones in the expansion of our sport," said Doug Fuqua, IHBA Promotions Chief Marketing Officer.

"The IHBA will be a great addition to the Speedvision line-up. The shows will feature great races and interesting driver and team profiles. They will be a great introduction for fans to the world of IHBA drag boat racing. I think motorsports fans will be very excited once they see these racers flying down the liquid quarter mile on Speedvision," said Butch McCall, Vice-President, Masters Entertainment.

The International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) is the premier sanctioning association for drag boat racing in the United States. The IHBA is dedicated to producing top-level motor sports events across the country by sanctioning 16 events at the national and divisional levels. The 2001 IHBA national series is a twelve-event tour covering California, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina, and Georgia, with a $1.5 million purse, reaching over 300,000 fans, and culminating with the crowning of the IHBA World Championship at Firebird International Raceway in November. Beginning July 1st Speedvision will begin a 52-week television schedule covering the IHBA. Log onto the IHBA website for more information www.ihbaracing.com
