SpeedSource announces Daytona 24 driver lineup

SpeedSource finalizes ...

SpeedSource finalizes #70 driver lineup for Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona

Sunrise, FL -- SpeedSource Race Engineering announced today that Larry Huang and Chris Hall will be joining Sylvain Tremblay and Selby Wellman in the #70 SpeedSource Ford powered Multimatic for the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona.

Huang and Hall had been competitors of SpeedSource in the 2003 Grand Am Cup Series. After the Rolex 24 Hours the duo will once return to their role of competitors of SpeedSource. SpeedSource team owner, Sylvain Tremblay, explains:

"Chris and Larry were strong competitors in the 2003 Grand Am Cup. In their first season with their Corvette they made some competitive runs at race wins. They had planned to do a Daytona Prototype in the 2004 Rolex 24 Hours with their own team but their car isn't going to be ready in time."

After the Rolex 24 Hours Hall and Huang will campaign a Crawford chassis with their own team, Silverstone Racing Services. The team just completed purchase of the car today.

"You know, joining Tremblay and Wellman is one good thing to come out of (our) situation," commented Hall. "The Ford Multimatic won this race last year in the hands of Mutlimatic, and there is no reason that it can't do the same this year in the capable hands of SpeedSource."

In addition to the #70 Daytona Prototype, SpeedSource Race Engineering will also campaign the #9 Daytona Prototype at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Paul Mears and Mike Borkowski will be sharing the car for the 2004 season and will be joined by yet to be disclosed drivers at the Rolex 24 Hour race.

Support for SpeedSource's 2004 Rolex Campaign comes from Mears Motor Coach, Workscape, Red Hat, Ford, Multimatic, and Dynamic Supsensions.

The 2004 Rolex Series season will kick off with the 42nd Anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 29-February 1. Tickets are currently on sale for the event and can be purchased online at www.daytonainternatonalspeedway.com or by calling (386) 253-RACE.
