CHAMPCAR/CART: Milwaukee Friday Practice report

Friday Practice:

The cars only got out for approximately 30 minutes, as a persistant sprinkle brought things to a hault quickly.

One incident brought out the red flag, as Jimmy Vasser and Mauricio Gugelmin spun and tapped the wall. Vasser's car got the worse of it, but both drivers were unharmed.

The time off at Indy got the juices flowing at Marlboro Team Penske, as Fittipaldi and Unser look like they'll be very quick this weekend. The 158 mph speed posted by Fittipaldi is far below the track record of 161.364 mph, but the rest of the weekend is supposed to be clear and fairly cool (highs in the low 70's), so look for the record to be matched or broken.
