"Indoor Racing Excitement Returns to Niagara Falls"

Just as you begin to get antsy to see live auto racing, you'll have the opportunity in the Northeast. On Saturday, December 1st, Northern Motorsports and promoter Harry Macy will present the first of four races, in the 16th year of the Indoor Midget Racing Series at the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center, located in downtown Niagara Falls, New York.

"Bobcat of Buffalo" will sponsor the pursuit of the coveted Castrol Cup, emblematic of the series championship. The featured event will be a 50 lap A -Main for TQ Midget cars, with some of the best drivers in the country on hand to do battle.

National sprint car star Jack Hewitt from Troy, Ohio, will headline the group, which also includes super modified standouts, Greg Furlong,"Liquid" Lou Cicconi from Aston, Pennsylvania, and Joey Payne from New Jersey, and former series champion Mike Tidaback from Little Falls, New Jersey. Localdrivers expected to be on hand will be last year's Catrol Cup winner, MikeStahl, Dave Wollaber, Dan Lawrence,veteran Mel Raab, newcomer Billy Mislin, and Vinnie Christiano Jr. A strong contingent of Canadian drivers will also participate, including the likes of, Can-Am champ Adam Walsh, Stewart Friesen, Jared Turnbull, Jim Johnstone, Warren Mahoney, and Randy May, to name a few. As an added bonus, attempts are being made to acquire a ride for top Northeast modified driver Ted Christopher.

The stellar field will be racing for the largest point fundin the country for indoor racing, $15,000, courtesy of Neptune Research.

Also on the card will be lightning fast Go Kart racing, with drivers from all over the area and as far away as Watertown, NY, and Pennsylvania, coming to compete. New this year will be an appearance by Hans Fisher's Motor Blade Racers, which use five horsepower motors mounted on carts to push them around the track.

Gates open at 1:00 with practice, time trials, and kartheats. Racing begins at 6:30. Admission for adults is $14.00, with those under twelve $6.00. Join us in Niagara Falls on December 1st for an exciting evening of TQ racing that will help chase away those coming winter blues.
