WKA wishes all supporters happy holidays

12.23.2009 -- With the holidays now upon us, the World Karting Association would like to wish all of its racers, members, officials, sponsors, advertisers and fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We hope everyone's holidays are joyful and filled with memorable times with family and friends.

The WKA office will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Most workers will be in Daytona Beach, Fla., next week (Dec. 27-30) for the annual Daytona KartWeek by Cometic Gasket at Daytona Int'l Speedway. Most office workers will return to the office Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, after KartWeek and the New Year holiday.

Thanks to all WKA members and supporters for a terrific 2009 racing season and year. We're hoping 2010 will be even better! Once again, happy holidays to all.

Impact Race Products releases its 2010 catalog

12.23.2009 (BROWNSBURG, Ind.) -- The new 2010 Impact catalog is here and is full of motorsports safety gear for all forms of motorsports: karting, open-wheel, _ mile, stock car, off road and quarter midget-- you name it, we've got you covered. New for the karting scene in 2010 is Impact's new fully sublimated kart suits and jackets. Sublimation is a process where we can print on the suit material instead of doing bulky and stiff embroidery. This means that your suit can be made with any custom design or logos on it, racers can let their imaginations run wild, if it can be printed it can be on your suit. These suits are made of high abrasion-resistant polyester and come with Impact's standard high-quality features including: strategically placed suede forearm and elbow patch, adjustable belt with hook and loop closure, a tapered collar for easier use of neck supports, 360o. floating sleeves (jackets feature 180o. gussets only), lumbar stretch panel and cool, lightweight mesh interior. Available in youth and adult sizes, the base price for the 1-piece suit starts at $299 and jackets start at $199 (graphic intensive suits may have additional set-up fees involved).

Impact also introduced the Eurosport helmet in 2009. Available in carbon fiber or composite versions, the new carbon fiber Eurosport^Ù helmet is based on our popular Supersport model. Using our knowledge of airflow around cockpits of formula cars and sports cars, the Eurosport has been specifically designed with the open cockpit racer in mind. The airfoil on the rear of the helmet helps stabilize the head using laminar airflow and cuts turbulence around the helmet. The Eurosport has three strategically placed crown vents that open individually via toggle switches for cool airflow all around the head. Our "intelligent" Gray Matter liner (a variable-density, single-piece helmet liner upholstered in fire-resistant fabric), interchangeable cheekpads for a perfect fit, a fire-resistant Kevlar chinstrap with dual D-Ring closure and our 1/8" polycarbonate shield with three-position detent round out this exciting new helmet. Adult Sizes: XS/S/M/L/XL. The Carbon Fiber Eurosport is $99 and the Standard Eurosport is $499.
