A week after his brilliant victory in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, Tiago Monteiro will undertake one of the biggest challenges there is in motorsport, the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will take place on June 13 and 14. This will be the Portuguese driver's fifth participation in the most prestigious race in the world and the third time driving in the Proto LMP1 category, the P1 / 01 in the Austrian ByKolles team.

Although he has had very little time to prepare and get acquainted with his car, Tiago is confident that he will do well. "My goal is to see the finish regardless of my ranking because it is a very long race, and a lot of things can happen to reshuffle the cards," Tiago analyzed. "I have not done a lot of laps so I will pay particular attention to the night racing as it is a complicated stage both in terms of driving and when passing other cars. Moreover, the weather forecast is not very optimistic and we will have to take all that into account."

On his return to the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time since 2011, Tiago Monteiro was unable to hide his love for the most famous endurance race. "I do not know any driver who does not like Le Mans. I have already participated in this event four times and it is always a privilege to come here," enthuses Tiago. "This is a unique event with an atmosphere like no other in the world of motorsport."

The 24 hours of Le Mans will be broadcasted in full on Eurosport on Saturday, June 13 at 2pm.
