Third Race in Indoor Midget Series Features Tight Points Battle

The third race in the four race Northern Motorsports "Bobcat of Buffalo" Indoor Racing Series will be contested on Saturday, January 26th at the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center in downtown Niagara Falls, New York. After two races, the top ten drivers are only 100 points apart, and with points awarded for time trials and heats, as well as the A Main, positions can change dramatically.

The current point leader is ISMA standout Greg Furlong from Hannibal, New York, following a win and a fourth place, followed by perennial fast timer and front runner Colin Turnbull from Cambridge, Ontario, who recorded finishes of eighth and second in the first two events. Mark Sammut from London,Ontario, currently lies in third, followed closely by eighteen year old Dave Wollaber from Ransomville, who vaulted into contention following his dramatic win on January 5th.

Dave McIntosh, Dan May, Wade Litt, Jared Turnbull, and ATQMRA president Glen Halbing round out the top ten in this hotly contested series, which concludes on March 9th, when more than $15,000 in point fund money is awarded to the top drivers, along with the prestigious Castrol Cup to the series champion. Thirty-two TQs were on hand for the January 5th event, with even more expected for the upcoming race. Hall of Fame sprint car star Jack Hewitt will be returning as well.

Also on the card are the lightning fast karts where Brett Stratford from Mt. Hope,Ontario, has won five out of six races, and young Erick Rudolph has continued to shine in the Junior Sportsman division. Over 60 karts were in the pits for the last show.

Gates open at 11:00 AM, with Midget time trials and kart heats beginning at 1:00PM. Racing gets underway at 7:00,following an autograph session at 6:30. For group sales, reservations, or more information, call promoter Harry Macy at (716) 832-4419.
