Karel Abraham will start from the fifth row on the grid
The Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham set a best time of 1:32,054 in the qualifying session at the Phillip Island and finished fifteenth, just 2,079 seconds behind the fastest rider Casey Stoner.
"I can’t be satisfied with the result of the qualifying session," the twenty one years old Czech rider, who crashed on the last lap, said. "Unfortunately, it was one of my fastest laps."
Analyzing the gathered data together with mechanics of the Cardion AB Motoracing team, Karel Abraham continued: „I don’t know exactly why I crashed. I went straight when I pressed the brake lever and the front tire slipped.“
"It was a heavy crash. I hit the gravel with my helmet but I should be okay," Karel Abraham admitted, recalling injury which he suffered during nasty crash on a opening lap of the Gran Premio de Aragón.
"I quite like racing in the rain, but let’s see what the weather will be tomorrow. I’ll be happy if it will rain all day and we will have the opportunity to try out the track in these conditions," the twenty one years old rider added, referring to the weather forecast for the race at the Phillip Island which predicts rain.
