Montoya to Run Texas and Homestead NASCAR Nationwide Series Races

CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 23, 2008)-Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) driver Juan Pablo Montoya will compete in two NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races before the end of the 2008 season. Montoya will pilot the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) on Sat., Nov. 2 and the No. 42 POWERade Dodge in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) on Nov. 15.

* Texas: Montoya will be the sixth driver this season to pilot the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge in the NNS. It will be his first time behind the wheel of a Nationwide car since August of 2007 at Watkins Glen International. Montoya joins the Fastenal Team of Drivers which includes Bryan Clauson, Dario Franchitti, Scott Pruett, Reed Sorenson and Kevin Hamlin who makes his debut in the No. 40 this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park.

* Homestead: Montoya will debut the No. 42 POWERade Dodge at his home track in Homestead, Fla. It will be the first paint scheme for the sports drink with Montoya at the venue where the Colombian made his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in November 2006. Montoya has just one start in the Nationwide Series at HMS, he started 31st and finished 14th on Nov. 18, 2006. Montoya will be driving a second entry at HMS, the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge will be piloted by Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender Clauson.

* Atop the Pit Box: Montoya will work with CGRFS Crew Chief Steven Lane for the two Nationwide Series races. Lane will work side-by-side with Brad Parrot and his No. 40 crew in Texas before taking the helm of the No. 42 POWERade Team at Homestead. Lane most recently worked with Scotsman Dario Franchitti in 2008 and David Stremme in 2007.

* Montoya's Nationwide Stats: Montoya has 21 career NNS starts to his credit since announcing his transition to stock cars from the Formula One Series in 2006. In those starts he has one win, one top- five and three top-10 finishes and has led 52 laps. He took the checkered flag in just his seventh Nationwide Series start at the road course event at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track in Mexico City.

Montoya:

"I'm really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a Nationwide car. I haven't driven one in awhile, so it will be fun. I'm driving the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge in Texas, and I love the fast mile and half tracks. Miami will be a black and blue No. 42 POWERade car, it looks amazing. Hopefully we can run up front in both races and contend for wins."
