CONCORD, N.C. (April 29, 2008) - Hamburgers on the grill, Memorial Day Weekend and the May 25 Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway are three All-American classics. And there's no better way to tie them all together than firing up the charcoal with Bruton Smith's personal recipe for backyard burgers fit for a billionaire!
To help race fans celebrate in style and good taste on May 25 at the Coca-Cola 600, the founder and chairman of Lowe's Motor Speedway has revealed his personal recipe for backyard hamburgers cooked on the grill.
"This recipe makes the most mouth-watering hamburgers you've ever tasted and it will add just the right spice to a great Memorial Day Weekend of tailgating at the Coca-Cola 600," said Smith. "This is the only recipe I use when I cook out, and once it gets out, I know I'll have to turn down franchise opportunities!"
Bruton's Backyard Billionaire Burgers
Ingredients:
3 pounds of fresh ground beef (80-percent lean)
1 egg
1 package of powdered mushroom mix
2 slices of toasted loaf bread crushed into bread crumbs
3 teaspoons of A-1 sauce
Directions: Mix ground beef and ingredients thoroughly. Press into (12) 1/4-pound patties. Grill over charcoal until well done. Season with salt and pepper to desired taste. Serve on your favorite buns with a slice of cheese and onion on the side. Serves 12.
Bruton's Backyard Billionaire Burgers can be enjoyed at any Memorial Day cookout, but for optimum taste-bud tickling, preparation is recommended at Lowe's Motor Speedway's May 25 Coca-Cola 600. Tickets start at just $39 and can be obtained by calling the Lowe's Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com.
