Tommy Baldwin Racing Expands into Short Track Racing

Charlotte, NC - (Sept. 29, 2009) -- Tommy Baldwin announces today that Tommy Baldwin Racing and Al Heinke from H & H Motorsports have joined to form an alliance. This newly formatted team will field a car full time in the "Super DIRTcar Series" with driver Jimmy Phelps. Erick Rudolph will also run select events for the team. Additionally, they will run a limited schedule in the Whelen NASCAR Modified tour Series.

"We have tried to come up with ways to diversify ourselves and create another marketing avenue for our sponsors," said Baldwin, owner of Tommy Baldwin Racing. "In this day and age, it's important to give our sponsors a broad spectrum of tools to choose from. It will allow our sponsors to reach the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series fans, along with the grass roots fans that are loyal to their local short track and touch a completely different audience. "

In addition to using this platform to entice sponsors, TBR also will use this as a driver development program.

"Many NASCAR stars began their career in these types of cars," said Baldwin. "We have to start some of these young guys in the local series to see if they have what it takes to get to the next level. "

The newly-formed partnership's first event will be the Oct. 10-11 race at the Syracuse (N.Y.) Mile. Wave Energy drink will be the primary sponsor for this event.

"The responses we've received as a result of our involvement with Tommy Baldwin Racing have been overwhelming," said Jason Wolter VP of Wave Energy Drink. "Our goal in supporting TBR's programs is to facilitate interest in our Wave Energy Drink franchises. Since our relationship began just a few short weeks ago, we've seen that interest quadruple on a weekly basis. We're pleased to be involved in this joint venture between Tommy Baldwin and H & H Motorsports, as this form of motorsports is geared to reach the grass-roots racing fan. In the end, it all really ties together quite nicely to create a well-rounded awareness program and audience for Wave Energy Drink."

H & H Motorsports has run the entire season. Currently, they have accumulated two wins, 11 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in just 20 starts. They are fourth in the points standing with two races remaining.

"Everyone at AL Heinke Racing and Troyer, Inc. is excited about the alliance with Tommy Baldwin Racing and Wave Energy drink," said Heinke. "It will bring marketing and technical opportunities to our short track team, and by association; the series they compete in. In addition, it will provide a great platform for driver development for the TBR Sprint Cup team."
