LAS VEGAS - Torrential rains in the Las Vegas Valley over the past five days have forced a rescheduling of two racing events this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Wednesday night's NAPA Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Winston West event at the Bullring has been postponed to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The evening will begin with a Legends Car race at 6 p.m. and a Grand umerican Modified feature at 6:30. The later start will allow fans uttending the Speedway Children's Charities driver auction at Sam's Town to get back to the speedway for the main event.

Thursday's Pennzoil World of Outlaws J.D. Byrider Challenge has been rescheduled for Sunday. Gates will open to race fans at 2 p.m. for the Sunday event. Friday's and Saturday's World of Outlaws schedules ure not affected.

Tickets for Thursday's World of Outlaws event will be honored on Sunday only.

"The weather has caused an inconvenience, but it's not going to keep us from having an exciting weekend of racing," said Chris Powell, executive vice president and general manager of LVMS. "We're hopeful that this amended schedule will work well for everyone. Race fans leaving the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 on Sunday now will have the option to extend their day of racing at our dirt track with the World of Outlaws."

Fans unable to attend Sunday night's rescheduled event either can mail their unused tickets within 30 days for a full refund or exchange them for the World of Outlaws' next visit on Friday, Nov. 2.
