Sin City awaits the electric Day

Las Vegas, Nevada - James Day is a mild mannered electrician during the week. On race weekend however, there is another type of energy that jolts this pilot.

Fresh off an appearance at The California Hot Rod Reunion where he drove the BOTELHO-COMPSTON-PATTERSON 426 nostalgia top fuel car, Day is excited to stand on the gas and electrify the crowd once again. His last big show appearance was at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals in Denver, CO this past July piloting John Lindsey Racing's CleanBoost® Performance Motor Oil Nitro Funny Car. The team qualified 13th and that put Day in the show for the first time as a Nitro Funny Car driver. They had the unfortunate draw matching up with defending NHRA Nitro Funny Car champion Robert Hight in round one, and Hight took the victory, but Day made a serious impression on the Funny Car world. The team has assembled again in Vegas to build on a successful first start.

"John Lindsey and the boys have things together and we are going to run hard and see if we can spoil someone's day out there," Day said. "I'm just living a dream out here, and to get some additional seat experience is awesome. Thanks to John Lindsey and the team, CleanBoost® Performance Motor Oils and a couple of new supporting partners helping us out, Chancellor Oil Tools, and Keigley and Mosby Motorsports."

The team plans to run this weekend at Vegas to get some more runs on the car, then be ready for the NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA November 11-14, 2010 to wrap up the season.
