PAC: Fallon final summary

SUMMIT TEAM TITLE GOES TO INFINEON

FALLON, Nev. -- In the final results from Top Gun Raceway and the NHRA Pacific Division Summit Racing Series Finals, the Team from Infineon Raceway took home the championship and bragging rights. The Sonoma, Calif., based track piled up 69 points which proved to be more than enough to hold off the team from Sacramento Raceway with 57 points in second and third place finisher Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway with 49 points.

Playing a big role in Infineon's victory was Dave Varner of Modesto, Calif., taking the win in the Pro class over Marvin Wolfmeier of Southwestern International Raceway and Vail, Ariz. Also from Infineon Raceway was Rick Morgan of San Pablo, Calif., advancing to the final round in the Sportsman class where he lost to Gary Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe of Fallbrook, Calif., and running for Barona 1/8th Mile Dragstrip, held off Morgan for the win in his '68 Chevelle clocking in at 12.946 seconds at 104.48 mph.

In the Super Pro final it was a pair of Speedworld Dragstrip teammates doing battle with Chuck Phelps, Chandler, Ariz., knocking off Glendale, Ariz., racer Dwight Downing.

Dustin Vagedes and Gary Moreno paced Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway to their third place finish in the team standings as they faced off against each other in the final of the Motorcycle class with Vagedes of Escondido, Calif., taking the win on his '08 ZX-14R over Moreno of La Verne, Calif.
