2 POLES AND 2 VICTORIES FOR AMY RUMAN
SOLID SRF RACES FOR NIKI RUMAN AT NELSON LEDGES NATIONALS

Munroe Falls, OH - Under sunny Ohio skies, Ruman Racing had a good Memorial Day weekend showing at the Nelson Ledges SCCA Duel National.

Amy Ruman dominated the seven car GT-1 field in the #23 McNichols Co./Goodyear GT-1 Corvette capturing the pole position for both races with times of 1:01.84 and 1:01.86. She came close breaking the track record in Monday's race, posting a time of 1:02.70. She holds the current track record at a 1:02.67, and while she was under the record in qualifying, track records can only be set during a race. She lapped the entire field on Sunday and everyone but 2nd and 3rd place in Monday's race.

"I'm really happy with the two wins we got this weekend in front of my hometown crowd. I wish we would have had a little more close competition to make it interesting, but sometimes it's nice just to win outright too," stated Ruman. "The crew has given me a very fast car this year, making it easy for me to drive and put together great laps."

Niki Ruman qualified the #23 McNichols Co./Dynasty Motorsports Spec Racer in 15th position for Sunday's race. Following a big crash at the start of the race, which Ruman was able to avoid, the entire race was restarted. Ruman finished 14th. On Monday, Ruman qualified 17th and had several good battles during the race, including a dramatic drag race from the final turn to the checkered flag. She finished in 12th, just 5 one-hundredths of a second from 11th place.

"It was good to be back at Nelson," said Niki. "I'd been away from the track a very long time and had nearly forgotten how fast and fun the course is. There was some good back and forth racing, especially on Monday."
