Riviera Racing Dominates Desert Race Scene with Victories in 4 of 6 Desert Races in 2007

Laguna Hills, CALIFORNIA -- Fast race trucks, spirited character and the determination of Riviera Racing were all exposed at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past weekend, as Mark Post and Rob MacCachren captivated a sold-out crowd, with a stunning victory over an elite field of the America's top off road desert racers.

Embattled in the very close SCORE Trophy Truck Series point's championship, Post and MacCachren strategized to merely stay near the top of the point's race before heading to the fourth race of the six race series held in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, that all changed when Riviera Racing's Rob MacCachren jetted away from the race leader in the final lap. The final three turns set the stage for drama as the series point's leader and reigning champion passed MacCachren on one of the final turns of the race; however, the area was officially under a yellow flag warning. SCORE Officials announced that B.J. Baldwin was penalized for passing MacCachren as they raced through the local yellow zone. Riviera Racing was awarded the victory by SCORE CEO -- Sal Fish.

MacCachren commented, "The Riviera Racing crew gave me a superbly prepped race truck and I worked the truck to the fullest extent in the final race of the weekend. The way that we won is not the way I like to get into victory lane. My spotter made me aware of the yellow flag as we raced back into the stadium and that's when we were passed on the yellow. If we could, we'd go out there and run another and just put me and him out there on the track and settle it again. This victory keeps us near the top in the point's race and we're excited to continue to be a threat in the series point's race."

Adding hardware to the Riviera Racing Trophy cabinet has been a frequent chore in the 2007 season. Mark Post and Rob MacCachren have won four of the six premier desert races held to date in 2007. In the two races that Riviera Racing did not come out on top, they claimed a top four spot overall. Winning at the SCORE Terrible's Cup marks their second SCORE victory of the season, after winning the SCORE Baja 250 in early March. Those two wins, combined with victories at the BITD Parker 425 and the Terrible's Town 250, have set the bar high for an elite field of the nation's top racers to strive towards. In the history of desert racing, no Trophy Truck team has been as dominant in a single season as the Riviera Racing duo has demonstrated so far this year.

"The SCORE Trophy Truck Championship is more than a battle for the series top spot. It's a war among the best and this weekend, Riviera Racing battled the best and fortunately came out on top. Rob's driving performance in the final race of the weekend was spectacular, as he drove the Riviera race truck to the win. Our strategy heading into this race was to get out of here with a top five and move ahead, looking for a strong performance at the Primm 300 race in early September. I'm stunned that we achieved the win, but if you watched Rob's performance, you'll know why," stated Riviera Racing team owner/driver -- Mark Post.

There is no rest for this championship caliber team as they immediately begin preparation for the upcoming BITD Vegas-to-Reno race slated to start outside of Pahrump, Nevada on Friday, August 24, 2007. Riviera Racing leads the point's race in the Nevada-based series and they are strategically planning a full on assault of the Nevada desert at this 600-mile race.
