Dupuy Dazzles Magnolia Motor Speedway in ASCS Regional Showdown

COLUMBUS, Miss. (September 2, 2007) -- Current American Sprint Car Series Coastal Region points leader Michael Dupuy added another notch to the victory column by winning Sunday night's 25-lap ASCS Coastal vs. Rebel Region feature at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

The $2,000 triumph marked Dupuy's fifth ASCS Coastal Region win of the year aboard David Kountz' No. 12 Eagle entry and his third in Regional Showdown competition.

Dupuy led the feature field to the green flag with Florida's Kenny Adams alongside, but it was third-starter Michael Herrington gunning into the early lead.

Herrington paced the field for seven circuits before Dupuy raced into the lead for keeps. Current ASCS Rebel Region points leader T.J. Winegardner moved into second and kept pace with the Amite, LA, hotshoe but was unable to make a move for the win.

Dupuy and Winegardner were chased to the line by Coastal Region rep Herrington, with Dale Howard and Adams rounding out the top five.

Jan Howard was sixth, with Wade Oliver, Brad Bowden, Timmy Thrash and Dewayne Prince completing the top ten.
