TULSA, Okla. (November 6, 2003) - The high-banked Delta Bowl Speedway one-third mile oval in Tunica, MS, is the latest addition to the 2004 Sprint Bandits schedule. The Sprint Bandits are set to invade the high-speed gumbo clay oval on Saturday night, March 27.

Joining the Sprint Bandits on the March 27 card will be the O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers, making for a full night of Sprint Car racing excitement as both series will present full programs.

The Delta Bowl Speedway event is scheduled to follow on the heels of the Sprint Bandits first event, which will take place the preceding weekend at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX.

It will be the American Sprint Car Series first National Tour event of 2004, as the series kicks off its 13th year of 360-ci action.

"Delta Bowl Speedway is another first-class facility that we look forward to bringing the Sprint Bandits to in 2004," commented series founder and president Emmett Hahn. "Located near Memphis, Delta Bowl has a tremendous fan base to draw from and the track itself is among the finest facilities in the country."

Featuring the use of the Brodix-developed series head, developed to significantly reduce the cost of 410-ci engines as well as extend engine life, the Sprint Bandits will also enact wing and tire rules that will aid in unhooking the cars, thus resulting in more competitive and affordable 410-ci Sprint Car racing.

Engines not equipped with the series head will be allowed to compete in Sprint Bandits action as well, provided that the injectors are sleeved-down.

In addition to the Sprint Bandits opening weekend at Devil's Bowl Speedway on March 19-20 and subsequent trip to Delta Bowl Speedway on March 27, the series also recently announced its first date at Knoxville Raceway, which will be on Saturday, May 29.

The Sprint Bandits will also take on the wingless stars of the USAC National Sprint Car Series at Memphis Motorsports Park on Saturday night, May 7. The non-point event for the Sprint Bandits will feature an added bonus for any Sprint Bandits shoe that can top the USAC stars on the Memphis oval.

The Sprint Bandits will present a schedule of 25 races in 2004. The balance of the schedule will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

The balance of the ASCS schedule will be announced soon as well.
