QUINCY, Mich. (June 23, 2006) -- Ken Mackey became the first repeat winner in this year's Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz racing action by scoring the win in Friday night's 25-lap feature at Butler Motor Speedway.

Mackey took advantage of an early stroke of luck then took the lead from the outset to pace the field throughout aboard the Griff's-powered Brewsters Fine Food & Spirits/Torco Fuels No. 25m Maxim.

Originally slated to start outside the second row, Mackey moved up to the front row when Ron Blair suffered a flat tire on the pace lap. Blair rejoined the field at the tail.

Mackey then outgunned polesitter Dain Naida for the early lead and set sail, with Gary Fast quickly moving into second. Fast moved up to challenge Mackey for the point but to no avail.

Meanwhile, Brett Mann was on the march, climbing to fourth by the time Davey Brown went for a wild ride down the frontstretch on the 18th lap.JBrown escaped uninjured.

Back under way, Mann quickly charged from fourth into second and set his sights on Mackey. Mann closed on Mackey and was poised to challenge for the lead when the race's final caution flew with just two rounds to go for J.R. Stewart's turn two spin while running third.
