WSS: Disbury Family receives team of the year award

23 June, 2003 - For the third year running the Disbury Family Racing team have been recognised as the Sprintcar Action South Australia Team of the Year.

Announced at the 10th Anniversary Presentation dinner held on Saturday June 14 at the Lakes Resort the team was again delighted to be recognised for their outstanding commitment to the sport.

"It is a great honour to again be recognised as the leader in our state. I would like to think that for anyone who sees how our team operates it is amongst one of the best in the country," said Team owner Darren Disbury.

"We had four drivers drive our car at various events throughout the season for various reasons and they all gelled very well with the team."

Along with the "Team of the Year" Disbury Family Racing also collected the Best-presented car and crew for the third year running.

This year's award makes the 11th such award for Disbury in his 16 years of being involved in Speedway which is testament to his dedication to presentation and exposure for his sponsors.

"In today's day and age it is ever so important that the team looks the part and the car is immaculate every time it hits the race track," commented Disbury. "This way the car and team is instantly recognised for its sponsors both on and off the track."

Plans are continuing for the upcoming Australian season for the team.

Although very tight lipped on the full details of the team's plans Disbury is pleased to say "We are negotiating with several companies both nationally and internationally for the upcoming season in addition to our current supporters."

"I would like to think that DFR will continue to innovate while other teams will be attempting to emulate."

Once the plans for next season are finalised Disbury Family Racing will be pleased to announce them in conjunction with a new fresh look website that is currently under development.
