SUPER LATE MODELS
Fast Time: Chuck Roumell, 15.80 sec.
Heats: Ron Allen, Joe Hawes, Nick Bailey
Feature: Dennis Strickland, Allen, Regan Ford, Jimmy Thiel, Roumell,
Brian Schlatterback, Kevin Stahl, Sean Monahan, Barry Quiniff, Guy
Pritchard, Tom O'Leary Jr., Steve Cronenwett, Robbie Loving, Chris
Benson, Don St Denis, Hawes, Bailey, Stewart Evans, Steve Peters
Notes: Dennis Strickland took over the lead when then leader Canadian Sean Monahan got extremely loose coming out of two on lap 18. Strickland led the remaining 17 laps to record his second career Toledo victory. He also won at ARCA’s other track, Flat Rock, last Saturday. It’s his third career ARCA SLM win…Monahan led the first five laps before being overtaken by fellow Canadian driver, defending track champion, Don St. Denis…St. Denis led until suffering engine problems on lap 10, returning the lead for the next eight laps to Monahan…Three cautions slowed things in the 35-lap feature, the worst when Monahan backed into the wall while racing hard with Chuck Roumell for third. Both drivers were able to continue….Joe Hawes was in the car normally driven by Mike Demars, after suffering engine problems during hot laps…Sixteen year-old, Nick Bailey’s heat win was the first win of his career....Former IHRA dragster Stewart Evans made his first stock car start tonight.
SPORTSMAN

Heats: Allen, Nikk Nuccio, Jerry Jones

Notes: Tonight’s win made it three in a row for Ronnie Allen…Robbie Loving led the first 17 laps of the event, building up nearly a straightaway lead…A caution on lap 15 for an accident involving Rich Franz, Randy Cronenwett, Randy Cornett, Kevin Burnheimer and Tommy O’Leary III. Franz’s and Cornett’s damage was too great to continue...The track was red flagged for cleanup for the second time in the feature (the first to remove Chad Stilwell’s car who although he didn’t hit anything was unable to drive his car back to the pits)...Allen took over the lead on lap 18 and led the remaining seven laps...Jerry Jone’s heat win was the first of his racing career.
