Gill Racing Wins Goodyear Pit Crew Challenge For USAR Teams
Goodyear Pit Crew Challenge: Crew chief Steve Dulzienski led his Gill Racing teammates to victory in the Goodyear Pit Crew Challenge for USAR Hooters Pro Cup teams at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla.

The winning crew took home a check for $3,000, presented by Goodyear distributor Larry Robinson. The Gill Racing crewmen included Shan Russ, Mark Williams, Bill Green, John Bland and Billy Rhine.

Dulzienski is the team's jackman. The stop was timed at 25.78 seconds.

The Race
USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series: Bobby Gill came from behind to defeat Hal Goodson and win the 2001 Series championship by winning the final race of the season, the Alan Kulwicki Memorial Hooters 300 at USA International Speedway.

Gill started the event 19 points behind Goodson in the standings. Goodson is a former Series champion. Gill led 223 of the event's 300 laps, dominating the event. Brian Vickers finished second in the race, Mardy Lindley was third, Mario Gosselin took fourth and Lee Tissot was credited with fifth place.

Gill finished the unique post-season format with 729 points. The championship is his third in as many years. Goodson and Vickers finished tied for second place with 673 points. Lindley was fourth in points and Shane Huffman was fifth.

Toby Robertson, son of the late T. Wayne Robertson, won the Rookie of the Year Award.
