BLYTHE HOSTS PAVEMENT POINTS "SHOOTOUT" SATURDAY
Three drivers, separated by only 40 points, share the spotlight this Saturday as the USAC California Pavement Ford Focus Midgets invade Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe, Calif.
Ian Miille, Alex Bowman and Brendan Langlois all eye the series point lead, with 74 points available at Blythe in the penultimate race of the 2008 season. The series concludes November 27 in the USAC National Ford Focus Championship race at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif.
Miille, an 18-year-old from Pleasanton, Calif., won the series opener at Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and has finished second in the last three series races. Bowman, a 15-year-old from Tucson, Ariz., is on a two-race winning streak and has won six time sin his last 10 starts. Langlois, a 16-year-old from Kamloops, B.C., Canada, has three victories this season and eight "podium" finishes.
Justin Hommel, seventh in the current series points, won USAC's April race at Blythe, but Bowman, Miille and Langlois were second, third and fourth respectively.
