DODO PAIRING TO START 21ST IN L&H 500

Dodo Racing Team pairing Dale Wood and Jack Perkins will start tomorrow's L&H 500 in 21st place after an up and down day of qualifying at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Victoria today.

Perkins finished 12th in his qualifying race today aboard the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore, having qualified in 22rd place earlier in the day.

Wood started from 23rd place in his race, finishing in 23rd place after completing the Dodo entry's compulsory pit-stop for the day in his race.

Todd Kelly and Mark Winterbottom won today's two qualifying races at Phillip Island, with the pairing of Winterbottom and Steven Richards earning pole for tomorrow's L&H 500.

Dale Wood - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"Qualifying efforts would have been nice if they were a little bit better," said Dale Wood.

"We both qualified at the same position, we've ended up one or two spots ahead of where we both qualified. It would have been nice to be in the teens (starting 21st), but not to worry we still have a good straight car.

"We need to improve it handling wise, but all in all I think the Dodo Commodore will be quite strong at tomorrow's enduro."

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"It has been an up and down day for the Dodo Commodore but we started the day in the top 15, and in the last race finished in the top 12," said Jack Perkins.

"It was a good end of the day and it sets us up for a solid race tomorrow."
