Countdown to the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway: 9 Days
Concord, NC-- March 4, 2009--The 2009 Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California on March 13-14 will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws for the first time since 1992. In the nine days leading up to the two-day event that will pay $10,000 to win each night, nine different drivers currently competing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series that have won at Silver Dollar Speedway will be highlighted in ascending order by the number of career wins they have at the always racy ?-mile.
The first driver to be featured will be 2001 World of Outlaws champion Danny Lasoski, who has two wins at Silver Dollar Speedway, including the 2000 Gold Cup Race of Champions, where he earned $20,000 for his victory over Tim Shaffer and Mark Kinser. Lasoski also picked up a win in a preliminary feature for the 1995 Gold Cup Race of Champions driving for Hall of Fame owner Al Hamilton.
In his career at Silver Dollar Speedway, Lasoski has 26 Top-10 finishes, with 20 of those being Top-Five performances. The native of Dover, Missouri has one career start in the Mini Gold Cup, with that coming in 1992, the last year that the World of Outlaws sanctioned the event, finishing a very solid fourth.
