The 2008 Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series opener, the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals is just three days away at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida, on February 8.
In celebration of the series 30th anniversary season this year, for each of the 10 days leading up to the event, each one of the Top-10 all-time A-Feature winners with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will be highlighted. These 10 drivers have combined for 1,449 A-Feature wins with the series dating back to 1978. Of the 10 drivers, four will be competing full-time with the series in 2008, beginning with the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.
Next up on the list will be two-time series champion Mark Kinser, with 153 career A-Feature wins, who is third on the all-time list.
Kinser won his first career Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Feature at Lanier National Speedway in Georgia in 1985. His most recent win with the series came in 2004 at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York.
Among the wins in his career are five triumphs in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway, including four consecutive from 1996-1999. The Indiana native also won the Knoxville Nationals three times, as well as the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway twice. He also claimed the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway in 2001 and the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in California in that same season.
Kinser won a career-best 27 A-Feature events with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in 1996, when he earned his first series championship.
In his career at the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, Kinser earned two Top-10 finishes in four starts.
