Passmore Strives For Consistency During Holiday Weekend of Racing

Christi Passmore has had nearly two weeks to work up to this weekend's double-header weekend of racing which includes Friday evening's short track race at the Toledo Speedway followed by Monday's race on the dirt at the DuQuoin Fairgrounds. As Passmore sits in the sixth position in the point's standings, she knows that the key to these next two races is consistency before moving on to next weekend's speedway race at Chicagoland.

"This is the weekend that can either really help your point's position or take you out of contention," said Passmore. "With these two races stacked together coupled with the travel time to get from Toledo to DuQuoin, you have to stay focused, get a lot of rest and be ready for the next one. The hard part for me with these tracks is that I have not had the best of luck on either one. At Toledo we have struggled with our finishes and last year at DuQuoin we fell out of the race early with a blown motor. With the points being as crucial as they are this season, we just can't afford to have a bad run anywhere for the rest of the season."

Passmore has competed on the half-mile Toledo Speedway on three occasions in the ARCA RE/MAX Series with her best starting position ranking as tenth and her best finish at a 17th place. Passmore has only made one start on the dirt in DuQuoin which came last season.

Passmore is currently poised to make history with her No. 91 G.A.P. Roofing / Asphalt & Fuel Supply Ford concerning her battle in the 2004 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points. Passmore currently sits sixth in the series points with only five races remaining in the 2004 season. She is currently 130 points from the fifth position. The highest finishing female in series history has been Shawna Robinson during the 2000 season when she finished sixth in points. If Passmore can remain consistent in her finishes over the course of the final five events, she could become the highest finishing female in ARCA history in a series point's battle.

The Hantz Group 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 8:30pm ET on Friday, September 3. The race can be seen Live on Speed Channel. The Southern Illinois 100 will take the green flag on Monday, September 6 at 1:00pm ET from the DuQuoin Fairgrounds.
