Frisselles fast on Friday at Fontana

Fontana, CA(1 April 05)--Burt and Brian Frisselle scored the third quickest time in Friday's final practice session with a 1:35.079-second lap of the 2.82-mile road course at California Speedway in advance of Sunday's Ferrari Maserati 400. The time was nearly a half-second faster than the two were able to run in the morning practice as the Synergy Racing team has continued to improve the RX.com-liveried BWM-Doran.

"The brakes were so much better in the second session, and that was the main difference from the morning for us today," said Burt. "The BMW is giving us good speed coming out of the slower corners, and the car is well balanced, so we are pretty happy with the way the day went. We had to conserve our tires during the day today, but I am happy with how much progress we have made already, and hopefully we can make some more improvements in the morning and then have a good run in qualifying tomorrow."

The Fontana race weekend is just the third race in the category for Brian, and the first time he has raced the high-powered Daytona Prototype on this track. The younger Frisselle has come up to speed quickly during the weekend, despite Thursday's practice sessions being cancelled on account of heavy winds and precluding Brian from getting familiar with the track before Friday.

"I am feeling pretty comfortable on the track so far-I think there might be a little bit of speed for me to find out there yet, but overall, I feel like I got the track down," said Brian. "We will go back and look at the data tonight and make sure I am getting the most out of it. The car was much improved in the afternoon, and the cooling system is working great, so I feel very comfortable in the car."

The brothers will get back on track Saturday at 9:20 AM for practice, with qualifying scheduled to get underway at 2:10 PM PST. Round three of the Rolex Sports Car Series will be broadcast live on Speed Channel beginning at 4:00 pm EST on Sunday.
