2003 Performance Index

Grand American Road Racing has established the Performance Index as a guide to individual driver performance in the Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup Series. Ratings are determined by a computerized formula that considers traditional motorsports performance milestones such as overall finishing position and winning the pole. Ratings are enhanced for drivers who qualify the car, lead a lap, lead the most laps, and set the fastest time during a race. The Performance Index ratings have no relation to the Grand American class championships. Driver, team and manufacturer titles will continue to be determined as called for in the Grand American rulebook.
