This weekend the fourth round of the FIA GT Championship will be held in Oschersleben, Germany. So far, the FIA GT Championship 2008 was a difficult one for Anthony Kumpen and Bert Longin, but both drivers remain very competitive.
"Oschersleben suits us", says Bert Longin. "Last year, we won the race although we were disqualified afterwards. This year is different, we're experiencing a very difficult season and it's not always easy to keep our spirits up. But we are true sportsmen and we do not give up the fight. Once again it will be quite a challenge to score points and perform strongly, but we'll do everything in our powers to achieve our goal. Giving up would also be unfair towards the team, the boys, the partners, sponsors and fans. As long as we do what we have to do, we don't have to blame ourselves. Our main technical partner, Pirelli also developed a brand new tire, proving their unchanged motivation."
Anthony Kumpen agrees with his teammate. "We'll do whatever is possible in Oschersleben by working on a solution for the problems we encountered. Of course, it will not be easy."
On a professional front everything is running like clockwork for Anthony Kumpen. "This weekend sees the start of the Tour de France and the Silence- Lotto team are competing with Ridley bicycles" Anthony Kumpen told us. "We worked really hard last year on developing two new bikes, and these will be presented to the world media tomorrow. With Noah and Dean, together with Robbie McEwen we're aiming at a stage victory in the sprint and with Cadel Evans at a final victory in this Tour. The bike that we have developed is truly revolutionary. Thanks to a new technology which we developed in the wind tunnel and which we have patented, we can offer a substantial aerodynamic advantage. This results in a gain in time and hopefully an overall victory.
