GORING DOMINATES SEASON-OPENERS AT SEBRING CLAIMS POLE AND BOTH RACE WINS

IMSA Lites Racer Jonathan Goring, just turned eighteen, of Norfolk, Connecticut, completely dominated the first two rounds of the IMSA Lites series at the Twelve Hours of Sebring in brilliant fashion. Goring took the pole in the Wednesday qualifying, and led every single lap of both of the races to claim two overall wins in his first two IMSA Lites events.

Driving the sleek black Elan DP02 prepared by Athens, Georgia-based Comprent Motor Sports, Goring drove a smart and savvy race, keeping everyone else in his mirrors. Although there were several cautions in both of the races, Goring handled the restarts brilliantly, and never was passed in the races, despite the best efforts of his rivals Ricky Taylor, Joel Feinberg and Josef Newgarden.

Goring gave credit to the well-prepared car he had from the Comprent team, and said he would like to thank the Comprent staff, especially his engineer Terry, Brandon, Kevin and the rest of the team, for putting forth such a tremendous effort.

"This is a wonderful start to what I hope will be a terrific season in IMSA Lites. I am so glad to be here racing at Sebring, and to have such great results is especially sweet," said Goring.

Next up will be the races at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah in mid-May, followed by Lime Rock in July.
