Pedrosa back on the podium in Mugello

Rain did not make a presence in any of the three races in the the three categories after a wet track had affected the two previous days. In MotoGP Valentino Rossi got his sixth consecutive victory in the Italian GP. The Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa finished second after a great performance and a very consitent weekend. Alex Barros was third. In 250cc Alvaro Bautista got his first ever victory in the category. De Angelis and Barbera were alongside him on the podium. In 125cc the Spaniard Hector Faubel won.

MotoGP

A great performance and second place for Dani Pedrosa in Italiy. The Repsol Honda rider, who started from the third row of the grid at Mugello, was even able to lead the race for a few laps. He was very pleased to be back on the podium and more than satisfied with the work carried out over the whole weekend but regretted not being able to take the maximum advantage of the bike" power when taking curves. Valentino Rossi, who has finally found his pace after a complex start to the season, climbed bit by bit until he was in first place with thirteen laps left. The Pramac D'Antin Team rider Alex Barros was third. The leader of the category Casey Stoner, who started in pole position, could only finish fourth.

250cc
Alvaro Bautista has got his first ever win in this category at Mugello after overtaking De Angelis on the home straight. The Master-Mapfre Aspar rider, who started in pole for the first time as well, won a race where the leading group was together during the whole race. Hector Barbera was third. Lorenzo, who began in twentieth place on the grid, managed to get into the lead after a great start, but was eighth after a race incident with Bautista. The Repsol Honda riders Julian Simon and Shuhei Aoyama finished sixth and seventh respectively.

125cc
Second victory of the season for Hector Faubel. The Bancaja Aspar rider snatched first position in the classification with this win in Italy. There was a great fightback by Sergio Gadea, who began in twentieth place on the grid, but who in the end was second. The Italian Simone Corsi was third. Pasini, was able to finish the race after many retirements in the first few races of the season, but could only finish sixth. Bradley Smith was eighth.
