VISTA, Calif. (Dec. 18) -- Ted Yerzyk has been hired as public relations manager for Don Prudhomme Snake Racing, Skip Allum, team manager for Don Prudhomme Snake Racing, announced today.

Yerzyk, 26, joins one of drag racing's premier race teams after spending three years as a media relations manager for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). With the NHRA, he was involved with media relations activities pertaining to the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and the all media relations activities surrounding the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series.

"I am tremendously eager to begin my new role with Snake Racing," said Yerzyk. "I am extremely proud to join a first-class, championship race team and feel that my skills are well suited to maximize the media potential of the drivers, sponsors and organization."

In his new role, Yerzyk will be responsible for all media relations activities specific to Snake Racing, team owner Don Prudhomme, driver Larry Dixon and the Miller Lite Top Fuel Team. He will also coordinate efforts with Alan Taylor Communications for on-site public relations requests for Skoal Racing Funny Car teammates Ron Capps and Tommy Johnson Jr., during the 23-race 2004 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

"We are pleased that Ted will be joining us here at Snake Racing and look forward to benefiting from his direct experience having worked with the NHRA Media Relations department for the past several years," said Allum. "Ted's knowledge of the sport, rapport with the media, creativity, and passion for the sport in general will serve us well as we strive to bring Snake Racing's drivers, teams and sponsors into the forefront."

Don Prudhomme Snake Racing is headquartered in Vista, California, with a second shop - Don Prudhomme Racing, Indianapolis - serving as the hub for racing operations. Drivers Ron Capps, Larry Dixon and Tommy Johnson Jr. complete the roster of Prudhomme's stable of drivers and proudly represent such racing partners as Miller Brewing Company, United States Smokeless Tobacco Company, Lucas Oil Products and Raybestos.
