Eurointernational to field car in new series for Sao Paulo Corinthians

Indianapolis, Indiana - Daniel Morad will be joining Eurointernational Team Principal Antonio Ferrari at Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 2nd for the launch of the Superleague Formula race car associated with the Corinthians Soccer Club. Eurointernational will be providing race support for the Corinthians' car in the new international series set to begin in August of 2008. Eurointernational has chosen Daniel to its priority list of drivers to enter the series which begins in August 2008.

The new Superleague Formula race series has been in development for some time and in an interesting twist, each race team is associated with a soccer club combining two of the worlds leading sports. The series is designed around a weekend of entertainment and will feature twenty cars carrying the livery of football clubs from around the world. To date there are eleven teams on the roster from across Europe and South America with more in final negotiations. A number of teams have already previewed cars to their fans.

Featuring a 750-bhp V12 engine built by Menard Competition Technologies mated to a six-speed transmission, the Superleague Formula race car is an open wheel, fully aerodynamic design built by Elan Motorsport Technologies with a carbon fibre tub and the latest carbon brakes.

Eurointernational will operate the car out of its race shop in Italy and be responsible for the transport of car and equipment using it's factory-based transporters. While the cars are liveried with the name and colors of the participating soccer club, Eurointernational manages the financial needs of the racing budget via club sponsors. Eurointernational will also select the driver. Drivers do not have to have the same nationality as the supporting club.

Already contracted to Eurointernational for the 2008 Atlantic series, seventeen year old Morad was a primary choice to run the Superleague Formula car for the team. "We have a good working relationship with Daniel" said team principal Antonio Ferrari. "We enjoyed a very successful season with Daniel in 2007 winning the Formula BMW USA Championship and after just one test so far in the Atlantic car, we are encouraged by his performance in a higher horsepower car that has greater mechanical grip. We are certain Daniel will be ready to move into the Superleague Formula car by the time the season starts in August."

Markham, Ontario native Morad most recently completed the rookie practice sessions for A1GP Team Canada in South Africa, getting his first taste of big horsepower driving the 550-bhp A1GP car.

Daniel, along with Eurointernational team mate Eduardo Piscopo, is on the team's priority list of drivers at this time. The team is currently in negotiations to add a second car to to their Superleague Formula efforts.

"I am looking forward to seeing the car first hand in Brazil this weekend" commented Daniel. "I hope we have the opportunity very soon to get to Italy and spend some time with the car and do some testing." He continued, "This is a fantastic opportunity and I thank Antonio for selecting me attend the launch of the Corinthians' car in Brazil."

Daniel will head to Sao Paulo on Wednesday (27th) to attend a series of media previews ahead of the car being debuted at the Corinthians soccer match at Morumbi Stadium on Sunday (March 2nd).

The Superleague Formula season is schedule to begin August 30, 2008 with a race at Donington Park, England.
