DAGGETT TAKES FIFTH ASCS SOD WIN AT SOUTH BUXTON

MERLIN, Ont. (June 13, 2009) - Dustin Daggett won his fifth Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP feature of the season Saturday at South Buxton Raceway. Daggett took the lead from Gregg Dalman on lap seven and motored on to the victory.

Dain Naida and Dalman started on the front row with Dalman taking the lead into turn one. Daggett motored from fourth to second on lap two and went after Dalman. On lap seven Naida and Norman tangled while racing for third position. Both drivers restarted at the tail of the field.

On the restart Daggett hounded Dalman and was able to make the pass for the lead on lap eight diving under Dalman in turn one. The entire field had one more shot at Daggett after a red flag for Jason Martin with six laps to go, but Daggett held on for the win over Dalman, Ryan Grubaugh from eighth, Brett Mann, and Robert Huisken from 12th.

Dalman won his heat race and the fast car dash, Mann won the other heat race event.
