ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (October 13, 2000) -- For the first time in the 11-year Speedvision World Challenge history, races will be broadcast live from the San Diego Grand Prix -- the season finale for the Speedvision GT and Touring Car Championships, November 5. A series which has embraced a heavy post-production television package, the World Challenge finales will be broadcast live to allow the suspense of the championships unfold to the viewing audience as it happens. "Speedvision provides some great broadcast television shows for the World Challenge series throughout the year with a post-production process," said Mitch Wright, Speedvision World Challenge General Manager. "Utilizing live television for the respective finales offers Speedvision GT and Touring Car Championship fans something they've never had before." The broadcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. (ET) with the Speedvision Touring Car season finale, followed immediately by the live BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series finale at 3:15 p.m. (ET) and then the Speedvision GT finale at 5:00 p.m. (ET). "There are going to be some tight points battles leading into the final weekend," said David Lee, Speedvision Coordinating Producer. "Providing live television heightens the drama to a new level. This will be a day of road racing that no fan will want to miss."
