Daniel Serra lives an illuminated phase. After managing to win the LMGTE Pro class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the São Paulo driver won his first Million Race on Sunday in Curitiba.

The # 29 car was dominant for much of the race. The only moment he was not ahead was at the mandatory pit stop, when he had to overtake Thiago Camilo to take the lead again.

At the end, 10 riders had problems with lack of fuel, including Camilo, which ended up easing Serra's life on the final lap. Marcos Gomes finished in second place and Cacá Bueno closed the podium. Rubens Barrichello finished in fifth place.

"Extra money coming into the account is always good. At home, I'm full of bills to pay. The team did a phenomenal job, one of the best cars I've ever driven in Stock Car. This time Meinha (Rosinei Campos)  surpassed himself, the team did a fantastic job. It's me who is going to the podium, but their work was essential... " said the winner.

With the victory at the Pirelli Million Race, Daniel Serra took the lead with 142 points, opening a 16-point lead over Thiago Camilo, who did not finish the race due a lack of fuel. "It's too bad what happened with Thiago, there is still a lot things going on and I'm sure we'll fight for the title until the end," added the new 'millionaire' racer.
