BRIGHT: I KNOW WHAT'S HOLDING US BACK

Optimism returned to Team BOC at Townsville today after a solid performance saw Jason Bright climb from 21st to ninth.

Brighty had another mountain to climb after qualifying 21st but made short work of the likes of Fabian Coulthard, Todd Kelly, Michael Caruso and Paul Dumbrell to finish the day inside the top ten.

I'm sure we can tune that up for tomorrow.

More importantly he says the race gave him a good idea of what has been holding the team back since May's emphatic win at Winton and believes it should be an easy fix.

Qualifying for tomorrow's race starts at 11.40am.

Jason Bright
Team BOC

"We made some changes before the race and it's certainly a better race car than qualifying car. I believe we've got a pretty good direction though on what's been holding us back. It's definitely something we can fix and I believe we can be very strong tomorrow.

"There was a fair bit of tyre degradation but our car balance was getting pretty bad at the end of each session so we weren't able to make the most of any tyre life. I'm sure we can tune that up for tomorrow."

BARGS: IMPACT SO HARD 'I GOT DIZZY'

The force of today's impact between Jason Bargwanna and Jonathon Webb at Townsville was so strong it made the Jana Living Racing driver feel light-headed.

The incident, which happened on lap 35 of the 72-lap race, broke the watt's linkage on Bargs' car but the team managed to fix it in time to rejoin and score 36 points.

Bargs had been running around 15th when Webb ran into him at Turn Two and was optimistic about the race after one of his best qualifying efforts this year.

Qualifying for tomorrow's race starts at 11.40am.

Jason Bargwanna
Jana Living Racing

"Jonathon Webb spun me but I really don't know what happened. I just got hit really hard in the middle of Turn Two to the point that I got dizzy for a second. The hit was so big that it broke the diff. I crawled back to the pits and the guys did a great job to turn it around for the 36 points. It keeps me in the top 15, so it's a great effort.

"I think we missed the top ten by 0.06 in qualifying today, which is one of our best qualifying efforts this year. We can build from that so I'm very optimistic for tomorrow."
