SCC: Utah: Kevin Krauss race notes

Bob Bondurant School instructor, Kevin Krauss, had an eventful experience in his first Grand-Am Cup start for Fall-Line Motorsports. The Oro Valley, Arizona racer drove hard to a 25th place finish with team-mate John Bibbo in the Fall-Line prepared #146, BMW M3, at the Miller Motorsports Park on September 1st.

Fall-Line Motorsports, which is headed by Principal, Mark Boden, fielded three cars in the Grand-Am Cup race at Miller Motorsports Park, including the Grand Sport Division M3 racecars driven by Steve Jenkins/Mark Boden, who came in a respectable 29th, after struggling with mechanical troubles, and Bob Heniff/Nick Ham, who finished 55th.

Krauss was suitably pleased with the outing, "I have to thank the whole Fall-Line Motorsports crew first off, they gave me the opportunity and means to be competitive. The whole crew worked their tails off all week. The event totally surpassed my expectations." Krauss also observed, "We moved up fourteen spots from our qualifying position of 39th after fighting off problems such as losing a lap in the pits and some gearbox issues. If we had some better luck, we may have fared even better. Overall, I'm very happy with the progress we made this week and the result we had."

Krauss, who will return to his day job as the Assistant Track Manager at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, looks ahead to the race at Virginia International Raceway. "Hopefully, with the momentum I gained from the Miller event I can put something together for the race at V.I.R. I'm really looking forward to running more Grand-Am Cup events in the future. It was a great experience."
