HOUSTON, Texas (April 28, 2011) - Momentum can be a good thing, and for Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Jim Underdahl, right now it's all good. Coming out of the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. almost two months ago, Underdahl is in a four-way tie for 9th place in the points-race and is anxious to keep improving his performance and moving up the ladder. Topping off his positive outlook, he is announcing a new sponsor for this weekend's 24th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.

Metro-Houston motorcycle retailer Stubbs 59 Powersports joined Team Underdahl as a one-race sponsor, coming alongside Underdahl's longtime backer Suzuki Extended Protection.

"We're all really excited about Stubbs 59 Powersports coming onboard for this race, and we're definitely in this one to win it," Underdahl said.

The long seven-week break between the first and second races of the season was "way too much" according to Underdahl. "It's a really long time to be off the bike," he said.

"We discovered some performance keys after running a 6.88 in the first round in Gainesville, and I know dad (Greg Underdahl) and Ben (Kriegsfeld, crew chief) are ready to keep things moving this weekend.

There's just something about the energy that comes from a large, excited crowd that keeps me going.

"We made the quarterfinals last year here, and I really liked racing this track. It's smooth, and can be really fast, so it should be a great weekend for us," Underdahl said.

Royal Purple Raceway has reported selling out both the Top Eliminator Club and Track Walk tickets for this weekend's event, promising a large turnout of fans for the weekend and adding to Underdahl's excitement.

"I love racing when the stands are full, and they are saying it's going to be a packed house this weekend. There's just something about the energy that comes from a large, excited crowd that keeps me going," he said.
