Taylor Racing Sweeps Round 5 and 6 in Crandon

After winning both Round 5 and Round 6 at the Forest County Potawatomi Bingo Brush Run in Crandon, Wisconsin, Scott Taylor has put some distance between himself and the competition in his quest for his seventh Lucas Oil CORR Pro-2 Championship. Going into the weekend, Scott had a slim two-point lead. As the team headed back to Belvidere, Illinois, the team now has a 19-point gap on second place Josh Baldwin.

RACE REPORT
The CORR competitors found the weather to be ideal and the track conditions at Crandon International as some of the best in the country.

Round 5
As the 10-truck field came down the "infamous" land run start and through Potawatomi Turn One, Scott grabbed the lead and never looked back. Halfway through the race, the #1 Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford F-150 had a 24 second lead. Scott's spotter was trying to get Scott to back off to save the truck, but the leader radioed back, "I can't go any slower." At the finish Scott had his second victory of the season.

Round 6
At the start Scott came out of the first turn in second place right on the rear bumper of Todd LeDuc. As the two lead trucks came out of the gravel pit in turn 4, and headed for the TracRite Jump, the BFGoodrich tires applied all the Roush Performance horsepower to the ground and Scott took over the lead. As the race progressed, the #1 Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford F-150 ran flawlessly. At the checkered flag came home first, with a 16-second lead over Brian Hinman.

Forest County Potawatomi Governor's Cup Challenge
The Governors Cup Race started with 19 trucks; with 8 two-wheel drive (Pro-2) trucks on the front line.

At the start, Scott took the lead. At the end on the first lap, he had a 7 second lead. Knowing that the four-wheel drive (Pro-4) trucks were coming through the field with a vengeance, the first lap was very important to lead. On lap 6 the three fastest Pro-4 trucks passed Scott. The #1 Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford F-150 had the straight-line speed to stay with the Pro-4s, but going through the corners the four-wheel drives have the advantage.

At the flag, Scott Taylor finished the Governor's Cup in fourth place overall and the highest placing two-wheel drive truck in the event.

"The truck was just incredible. We knew every component on the Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford was the right combination for a winning truck. The truck struggled with the new tire rule earlier in the year, but Russ Wernimont our Chief Engineer, came up with a new suspension setup that really made the BFGoodrich tires, Roush Performance engine and Skyjacker engineered suspension all work together. The high speeds we run at Crandon can also be really hard on the drivetrain, but our ATD transmission ran cool all weekend. Wow what a weekend! " -- Scott Taylor

Taylor Racing would also like to thank all of his sponsors Skyjacker, BFGoodrich, Ford Trucks, Roush Performance, ATD, Justice Brothers, Miller Electric, Mobil 1, MSD Ignition, Phil's Inc., Precision Gear, Auto Meter, Boatec, CNC, K&N Engineering, Mastercraft and Ringer Gloves.
