SHAWN SEIFERT MAKES IT "2"
Nik Gower grabs first 250cc win of 2005

HANOVER, PA, 4/16/05 -- Shawn Seifert climbed out of his 600cc micro sprint, Saturday night, for the second time in two weeks. When asked by announcer Scott Hockensmith if they had this same conversation last week, Seifert replied, "I'd like to talk to you every Saturday night!"

Seifert's Bryan S. Ford Builder/Contractor #1 racing machine started the 20-lap feature fourth and took the lead away from polesitter Scott Glover Jr. on the 13th lap after knocking on his door since the second lap of the race. Once Seifert took the lead, it was clear sailing until the checkered flag.

On lap 16, while racing for position, Glover Jr. and the 2004 "600" micro sprint champion Tim Dietz made slight contact sending Glover's Rushland Concrete Pumping Service #14 back to the seventh position by the next lap. Dietz then took over the second position.

Completing the top five following Seifert and Dietz were fifth starter Keith Woodson, The Workshop Yamaha/Polaris Inc. #38 driven by Mark Strickler and eleventh starter Sean Campbell.

Bill Gawler, Glover Jr., Paul Hively, Jake Murphy and Ron Taggart rounded out the top ten.

Heat winners were Glover Jr., Woodson, Gawler and consolation winner, Timothy Gladfelter.

Polesitter Nik Gower displayed perfection in the 270 micro sprint race. Gower's #10 Contracting Building sprint car took it's first trip to victory lane in the 2005 racing season. In the 20-lap feature race with three quick cautions, Gower dominated with good restarts.

The 2004 "250" micro sprint champion Billy Laughman maneuvered his #2 Swartz Chassis/Rustic Iron Hair Salon machine from the seventh position to finish the night with a runner-up position.

11th starterJacob Hartlaub made his way to the top five by the fifth lap and ended the night with a solid, third place finish. Following Hartlaub was the #7 Rustic Iron Hair/Tanning Salon machine driven by Bob Laughman and 19th starter Jim Still, driving the Line X #8.

Completing the top ten were Broc Lawrence with his best finish so far in the 2005 season, Eric Eckert, Cody Darrah who pulled a double tonight racing in both the 250 and 600 micro sprint feature race, Mike Deimler, and the #33 sprint car driven by New Oxford's Michael Schreiber.

Mike Deimler who was strong towards the beginning of the feature, was shuffled through the field and fell from second down to fifth in three laps and preceded to fall back to the ninth position by the checkered flag.

Randy Crunkilton picked up his first win of the 2005 season in the 4 & 6 cylinder scramble car feature race. Crunkilton passed early race leader Brent Eckert on the fourth lap, leading the final laps of the 12-lap event to take the checkered flag.

"I thought I had it last week, but he (Shawn Crunkilton) had a better car... this was really special," Crunkilton commented after exiting his scramble car, referring to his son Shawn who had won the previous week's race in the scramble car division.

Following Randy across the line was polesitter Roy Denike sponsored by the Flooring Outlaw, Will Walls, Rodney Wolfe Jr. sponsored by Arjay Enterprises and 17th starter Buddie Jeffers.

Timothy Hahn, Jimmy Combs, Brian Walls, Shaune Stapleton, and James Wagner completed the top ten.

In the first scheduled 4-cylinder stock car race of the 2005 racing season, Grant Adams took the checkered flag. Adams led all 15 laps of the feature race.

Completing the top five were Ed Hollenbach, Brian Wentzel, John Salter Jr., and Leroy Long.

In 6-cylinder Starlite Oval competition, Harry Shipe grabbed the checkered flag and in 4-cylinder action Joe Racine took his first win of the season. In the Starlite Limited division Robert Nicklow took the win.
