DeBois, PA- Benny Gordon, 2003 Miller Lite Rookie of the Year, has accepted an offer from Predator Performance out of his original hometown of DuBois, PA for the 2004 season. Predator Performance has signed the USAR Hooters ProCup South series driver to occupy the brand new facility and the brand new seats that await the arrival of the '04 season. The team will carry the No. 66 in the USAR Hooters ProCup North Series.
"Wow, what a difference a year can make." Gordon stated, "There was one point in the '03 season that we had to just stop and miss a race just to gather things back up again. I think that was the turning point in my season. Now, here I sit with this great opportunity for the '04 season in disbelief and pure excitement. I cannot only continue racing the Hooters Series, but I also have an opportunity to move back to my hometown and will finally have an opportunity to compete in the BGN series with the confidence and backing that can only equal success. I'm extremely excited about the opportunity and I thank Predator Performance for giving it to me."
The foundation of the newly developed team lies right in the city of Gordon's hometown, DuBois, PA. Although the facility is not due for completion until early April of 04, this will not interfere in any way of the ongoing efforts to get this team up and running full speed. Full speed is an understatement! The team will house their own engine program right out of the new facility, none other than, Predator Performance Engines. The team has plans to house every part needed to pour into a full-powered engine right there in the shop. From the engine room to the fabrication room to the paint booth right out to the surface plate, Predator Performance plans to build a top-notch facility and team.
"There are a couple of team members that will make the move with me." Gordon stated, "The rest of the team will make the trip Northbound to attend as many races as possible. They will continue to do so until a new crew, mainly from the DuBois and surrounding area is established. Predator Performance LLC wants this opportunity to be shared with the community and try to keep as much business as possible in the DuBois area." The first addition of sponsorship is from a local DuBois area Ford dealer. Murray's Ford will be supplying the new Predator Performance team with the tractor for the transporter that will carry the team's cars to each event. "We are very excited to have Murray's Ford come aboard the team." Gordon stated. "This is a big asset to the team and we are very fortunate for the opportunity to have Murray's Ford being a part of the Predator Performance team."
Predator Performance will begin its season with the upcoming test seasons held in February and March with the first race scheduled for April 17 at the South Boston Speedway in Virginia. The team will run for the Championship title in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Series.
