Since December 2007, former motorcycle and F2000 champion Alan Labrosse headed the facility, which includes a short oval, a drag strip and a road course.

After 55 years of competition, the track will close after an agreement was signed April 9 between the directors of the Autodrome, the city of St-Eustache and Hydro-Québec.

The ongoing complaints from local residents because of the noise of the race cars and the urgent need for the city of St-Eustache to expand its residential and commercial areas were responsible for the expropriation of the lands. The city of St-Eustache will pay $5.3M Canadian for the land. Hydro-Québec, the public utility that manages the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Québec, will use the land to build pylons of high voltage lines to preserve two maple groves and farmlands.

In a press release, Alan Labrosse said that the track would be demolished after the 2019 season of racing, all companies that are linked to the auto industry and the race cars located on the grounds of the Autodrome will not be affected by the decision. This concerns Motorsports in Action, Précision EFI, GotBoost and Carrosserie Prestige R.B.

“We negotiated an agreement that will allow the Autodrome St-Eustache to remain open for two more years,” Labrosse added. “During those two years, we will work with ICAR Circuit [located at the nearby Mirabel airport] for the relocation of some races and activities from 2020.”

Every year, the Autodrome showcased a high number of events, such as a round of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, races of the NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil Series, Show & Shine events, the Diesel Fest, races of the Canadian Super Bike Championship, lapping, national road racing events, Street Drag, Honda Fest and much more.
