Restraining order doesn't work for Leffler: Driver Jason Leffler obtained a restraining order to secure his seat in his No. 00 Haas-Carter Busch ride, after the team announced Blake Feese would drive this weekend.

After much controversy Feese will drive this weekend. Leffler was third in Busch series points.

Leffler is the top candidate to grab driving duties for the No. 11 Gibbs Chevy sponsored by Federal Express next season in the Cup series. Gibbs Racing has scheduled a press conference for October 13th at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport to make a formal announcement of their 2005 driver.

Childress to put Bowyer in No. 2 next season: Richard Childress Racing announced Friday that Clint Bowyer would take over permanent driving duties of the No. 2 Chevy next season in the Busch series.

He fills the seat being vacated by Ron Hornaday.

Childress also stated that he hopes to be able to announce other organizational changes in the next few weeks. Namely, whether or not AOL will return as primary sponsor of the No. 30 Chevy of Jeff Burton and whether or not Robby Gordon will remain as driver of the No. 31 car.

"We're probably going to make those announcements around Atlanta or a little after," Childress said. "We pretty much have everything in place.

"You know, we are going to make adjustments all throughout or organization. We're going to make a few adjustments, everything from Cup to Busch."

Rumors are also swirling that another team swap could be underway between the No. 30 and the No. 31 teams next season. The two teams have already traded once before.

8 team sporting something funky under fire suits? Supposedly, members of the No. 8 Budweiser Chevy of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. want to don t-shirts saying "Can't Say Sh*t" under their firesuits this weekend. Clearly, if true, they would need to keep them covered up to avoid a PR firestorm.

Members of the team sported them at Earnhardt's birthday party earlier this week in Mooresville, NC.

NBC institutes 5-second delay: After Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s slip of the tongue last weekend in victory lane at Talladega Superspeedway, NBC has decided to institute a five second delay for NASCAR broadcasts.

"We're disappointed for our viewers to have to do this, but the delay provides a level of protection against anything inappropriate going out over the air," said Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics.

Notably, MRN, Motor Racing Network Radio, has also added a seven second delay to their broadcasts.
