LIBERTY MOTORSPORTS BACK IN ACTION AT ROAD AMERICA
Illinois-based team returns to F2000 Championship Series with strong three-car effort in Wisconsin

ROCKFORD, ILL. (August 5, 2010) - Liberty Motorsports's talented three-car F2000 Championship Series driver line-up returns to action this weekend (August 7-8), with Rounds 11 and 12 of the highly competitive series taking place at Road America. With the goal of adding more podium finishes and potentially a first pro victory to the Illinois-based squad's record books, team principal Brian Belardi, series rookie Zach Craigo and pro F2000 veteran Bobby Caldwell will all get behind the wheel during the Wisconsin doubleheader.

The Liberty Motorsports drivers and crew are excited to be returning to F2000 Championship Series competition, after missing the most recent event at Lime Rock. Given the Illinois team had earned podium finishes in each the previous two events (Watkins Glen and Mosport), the goal entering the event is to re-ignite that run of form at Road America. Thankfully not only does Liberty Motorsports have extensive testing and race experience at the 4.0-mile road course to draw from, but the fast undulating nature of the track suits all three drivers.

For Belardi the Wisconsin doubleheader will mark his first F2000 Championship Series start of the season. That however is not to say the No. 41 Liberty Motorsports racer enters the event unprepared, as Belardi has already taken part in a U.S. F2000 National Championship race, as well as multiple SCCA National races. In fact, given Belardi's previous success on his home track, many expect the team founder and principal to be among those challenging for top honors come race time.

When Craigo gets behind the wheel of the No. 85 Rocky Mountain Medical Lasers Inc./Strahan Colorado Whiskey/Liberty Motorsports entry at Road America, the primary goal will be to convert the speed and talent he posses into results. The Coloradoan has shown flashes of his potential during the two events he has contested since joining Liberty Motorsports, but a combination of poor luck and incidents have prevented Craigo from garnering the results desired.

Caldwell takes the Wisconsin road course seeking to build on his top-10 performances of late. In what has been an up-and-down season to date, the Indiana racer has shown good racecraft and pace on high-speed road courses similar to Road America. Caldwell as a result returns to the cockpit of the No. 80 Caldwell Racing/Liberty Motorsports entry confident he challenge for top honors.

The Liberty Motorsports drivers will first take to the renowned Road America track on Friday (August 6) via a pair of practice sessions. Both Saturday (August 7) and Sunday (August 8) will feature identical schedules, with a morning qualifying run prior to a 30-minute race in the mid-afternoon. The Illinois-based team enters Rounds 11 and 12 of the F2000 Championship Series having earned three podium finishes in the past four series races it has contested.
