Le Brocq eyeing Prodrive V8 enduro seat
Prodrive development series front-runner Jack Le Brocq says he is hoping to turn his good form into a V8 Supercars endurance race seat with the main team later this year.

Le Brocq, who signed on with the reigning Dunlop Series champions for the 2016 season, was the form man in the second division series across the Barbagallo Raceway weekend.
The Victorian bounced back from a tough Phillip Island to win all three races in the West, and not sits level on points at the top with team-mate Garry Jacobson.
And that front-running form is something that he hopes will translate into a co-driver role in the main series at Sandown, Bathurst, and on the Gold Coast later this year.
“I suppose we’ll find out in the next couple of weeks,” he told Motorsport.com.
“I’d like to be there for the enduros. I’ve put my best foot forward, this weekend especially, so fingers crossed. We’ll see what happens.
“I’ve juts got to keep chipping away and making sure I have good results. I need less weekends like Phillip Island, and more like Perth.
“I’m sure the results will speak for themselves, so we’ll just keep pushing on. Hopefully that leads into something for next year also.”
Bright future
Prodrive has proven recently that it’s not frightened to nurture young talent and promote from within, particularly having given then Dunlop Series points leader Cam Waters an enduro gig in 2015, before promoting him to a full-time race seat for 2016.
That track record is something that Le Brocq says is exciting as he looks to build on his career progress.
“There are a couple of young guys in there with Chaz [Mostert] and Cam at the moment, and also Chris [Pither],” he said.
“So who knows what will happen [in the future]. We have a great sponsor behind us too, so we just have to keep going.
“Like I said, results speak for themselves. Hopefully that opens the doors that we need.”
With Dean Canto now confirmed to be alongside Mark Winterbottom for the endurance races, it remains to be seen whether Steve Owen slots in with Mostert or Waters. Whichever seat the experienced co-driver doesn’t take may well be up for grabs for either Le Brocq or Jacobson.
