The official launch of the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps was held today in Brussels in the magnificent surroundings of the Autoworld museum in the Belgian capital city. Four cars were also on display in the centre of the museum that houses cars from every era of motoring, including a new display of Belgian manufactured cars. FIA WEC CEO Gerard Neveu, who also spoke at the press conference, said: “We have received a very warm welcome in Brussels today and there is real excitement for the next race at Spa-Francorchamps next week. To see the Porsche, Audi and Toyota on display at Autoworld amongst some of the most historic cars in the world underlines the long motoring heritage enjoyed here in Belgium.

Today marked 10 days until the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamp and the FIA WEC is certainly creating a real buzz in Brussels. We would like to thank the local promoter and the RACB for their hard work they have made with us and the advance ticket sales, which is already better than 2013, are very encouraging. If we have some good weather we should be looking for a very large crowd in Spa.”

The WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is Round 2 of the FIA World Endurance Championship and will take place on the 2nd and 3rd May. A full weekend of family entertainment is on offer to all the fans who will travel to Belgium for the traditional dress rehearsal for the 24 Heures du Mans on the 14/15 June.
